About me - Grace:

I came up with the kennel name "Moxie" from Mojo "Mo" and lexi "xie" combined.  Just in case you're wondering!  I am the fanatic of the two of us.  I love bullies regardless of anything they do.  I may be a little overboard but hey, it's what makes us individuals, right?  Here's my/our story:

I first fell head over heels for the English Bull Terrier during the Spuds McKenzie craze.  I wanted a bully then but knew nothing about them and how to find one.  Time flew by and life changed.  I ended up in northern California with my now fiance, Chip.  I went to work for a winery and met the person who would help me get my first bully, Lexi.  Andrea Gates of UKUSA kennels was working as a contracted employee and being a bully fanatic, brought her bully photo albums and all things bully to work.  Another co-worker spotted this and told her that I was obsessed, too.  Andrea thought that she must be mistaken but lo' and behold, we met and Andrea contacted Jan Dykema who told her there was a Bob litter from Brent Ruppel's bitch, CH Quicksilver Holly Would (Randi).  I called Jeanna Ruppel of Quicksilver Bull Terriers and she told me there were two show potential bitches that I might be right for.  We chatted up a bit and that's where it all began - we picked up "Lexi" in June of 2001 and life has not been the same.  I consider Jeanna and Brent two of the most sincere, down-to-earth folks I know and good friends!

About him - Chip:

Chip has been incredibly understanding through this all and loves all our bullies, too.  He is just not as fanatical as I am!

At first Chip thought bullies were very strange looking (actually I think he said, "why would you want such an ugly dog?!") but I wore him down and that's how it all began.  Chip was instrumental in meeting my first bully up close (Kitty) at the Cow Palace in 2001.  I could not bring myself to say anything to the dog's breeder as I was in awe!  With prompting from Chip I got a business card and was hooked.  I think this may have been the day that Chip's shell cracked, too.  Chip supports us around the show ring, on long road trips, vet trips and maintaining as much sanity as we can muster on a daily basis.  Chip LOVED the whelping process so much he has said many times he would love to do it again and again.  Unfortunately this is where I put the brakes on.  It is so much responsibility to whelp and place and support a Bull Terrier for it's life.

Us:

With the support of Brent and Jeanna and many, many friends in the Bull Terrier world, we became active in showing, got more bullies, learned some lessons the hard way, bred, whelped and raised two litters and now share our home with six dogs - 4 bullies: Lexi, Mojo, Panda and Syd; as well as two other bull breeds: Sarah the French Bulldog and Sally the pitbull/mix.

What more can I say?  Life is crazy, busy, stressful and at times destructive, but what a full life it is!  I could not imagine life without a Bull Terrier in it!

If you have the good fortune to have a bully in your life you can relate.  If you do not, you will soon find out how special bullies are and ..

LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME ONCE YOU LET A BULL TERRIER INTO YOU HEART AND HOME!
